I designed an ADA-compliant duplex for a wounded veteran and his family, ensuring accessibility and comfort in both living spaces. One side of the duplex was dedicated to the veteran and his wife, while the other accommodated his daughter and her children. The design focused on creating easily accessible walkways and cabinets that supported the veteran’s mobility, allowing him to go about his day with ease. I chose muted earth tones and traditional, serene decor to emphasize natural elements and tranquility, blending functionality with a calming aesthetic. The result was a space that fostered both independence and family connection, while maintaining a peaceful, welcoming environment. On this page one can find my planning process below.
